DISTRICT COUNCILLOR REPORT

Councillor Mike Connelly report attached to minutes.

Kent County Councillor Sue Chandler reported on the following matters.

Carers Week 6th to 12th June. Making Caring visible, valued and supported.

Kent County Council Digital Champions. Volunteers needed to support the scheme to improve digital inclusion across the County.

Hosts for Ukraine Refugees. Active work is continuing including accommodation checks, suitability and matching.

No reports

Councillors confirmed the letter of objection for the upgrade to bridleway for the EE190 will be submitted within 42 days of the Notice.

HIGHWAY MATTERS

Councillors discussed the ongoing problem at Copmans junction. Clerk requested to report lack of white markings to Kent County Council and email Councillor Sue Chandler with details. Update Highways Improvement Plan.

DEFIBRILLATOR UPDATE

Clerk requested Councillors approval of the funding of new battery.

Cost £250.

JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS

The Chairman Councillor Phillips thanked Councillors Stanford and Turner Brown for the amazing work done for the Jubilee Celebrations. Also The Chairman extended thanks to Sarah Seymour, Matt Maendel (Beech Grove) and Linda Cox for their work. The events were all successful and the contribution and attendance by the people of the Parish was very encouraging.

Councillor Stanford reported on the new initiative to support and continue with Community participation. The Think Map event will be held on 20th July.

Kent County Councillor Sue Chandler made reference to the Members Grant scheme which is available to support new initiatives.

  4. Bridie Passmore Audit invoice no 570 £120 cheque 454 proposed Councillor Long Seconded Councillor Stanford. It was noted that the invoice had an anomaly of quantity.

ONLINE BANKING

Councillors Stanford and Aldington agreed to progress online banking and procedures for good practice.

Clerk reported that the cheque for Fitzpatrick Woolmer for the information boards had not been received. Councillor Stanford agreed to contact National Westminster and stop cheque. Councillors agreed new cheque to be raised once action to stop had taken place.

Approval Annual Governance Statement 2021/22

Following Audit Approval Annual Governance Statement duly signed by The Chairman

PLANNING

  1. Nomination of Planning Representative

    Councillor Phillips agreed to nomination.

  2. Goodnestone Housing Needs Survey

    No comment until survey completed

    Local Plan update confirms submission Regulation 19 proposals to Dover District Council Cabinet and Council in autumn 2022.

WRITTEN CORRESPONDENCE

Clerk reported on the Giant Hogweed problem in Goodnestone. Councillor Phillips agreed to visit the area.

PUBLIC CONTRIBUTION TIME

Matt Maendel informed the committee of a new project to be introduced at Beech Grove. A Boarding House to be established and 7/8 men will arrive in September and will be available to carry out community work in the Parish.
