There are lots of events happing in the village in the run up to Christmas. These include:
- A choir concert on Sunday 30th October
- The return on film nights, every other Friday from 4th November
- A new ‘community hub’ in the Village Hall – every Wednesday afternoon 2-4
- The Goodnestone ‘Soggy Bottom’ pantomime during the second week of December
- Various other events in the run up to Christmas

Goodnestone Road will be closed on Thursday and Friday 27th & 28th October. The closure will be between the junction of Saddlers Hill and Cave Lane and the top of the hill near Crockshard Farm.
From the description on the signs, the road will be closed from 8am to 5pm, but it is not clear whether the road will also be closed overnight on the 27th/28th.
Dover District Council Local Plan has been published and is open to consultation. A paper copy of the plan can also be obtained by contacting Councillor Kevin Philips.
The Canterbury District Council Draft Local Plan has also been published. This includes details of a large proposed development between Adisham and Aylesham which may be of interest to residents of Goodnestone Parish.
Goodnestone Village Hall will be opening its doors every Wednesday in November and December from 2 to 4pm. The hall will be open to all members of the community. Expect a warm welcome, a cuppa, to hear the latest parish news and to share your thoughts about the community.

Love Lane will be closed between Monday 31st October and Thursday 3rd November inclusive between Ratling Road and the B2046 Adisham Road junction.
In Wingham, the junction between Adisham Road, Staple Road and the High Street is due to be closed on Saturday and Sunday 29th & 30th October.
Access to Wingham from Goodnestone direction will be either via Buckland Lane and Durlock Road to Staple and Ash or via Wingham Well Lane, although Wingham Well Lane is likely to be very busy.
Roads through Chillenden will be closed on Thursday and Friday 27th & 28th October. The roads closed include Short Street, Griffin Hill from the junction with Sandwich Road, and The Street as far as the junction with Station Road.
The alternative route is via Station Road or follow the signs if you need access to the village.
The closures are for the installation of 20mph speed limit signs.
