The Fitzwalter Arms has been closed for a few weeks for refurbishment. It re-opens its doors on Thursday 24th March at 4pm under new management. Kent County Council is proposing to reduce rural bus services. The reductions that are under consideration include services 541, 542 and 544 that serve Goodnestone and Chillenden. They also affect the Kent Karrier (Dial-a-Ride) services.

Kent County Council have issued an update to the proposed speed reductions to 20mph. The update clarifies that fact that Park View Close and Manicom Close are included in the proposed reductions.

Boyes Lane will be closed between Saddlers Hill and Cave lane between 09:30 and 15:30 on Thursday 3rd March. For more details, please visit the one.network website.

The B2046 Adisham Road and B2046 High Street will both be closed between 09:30 and 15:30 on Monday and Tuesday 21st and 22nd February. This will mean a long detour to get from Goodnestone to Wingham high street.

There will be road closures in Chillenden at various times during the period from Monday 7th to Friday 18th February. The closures will take place on Griffin Hill and between Station Road and the windmill.

The closures are taking place so that Openreach can complete the works needed to deliver superfast fibre to Chillenden.
