COUNCIL MEETING OF GOODNESTONE PARISH COUNCIL HELD ON
WEDNESDAY 25th SEPTEMBER 2024 AT 7.30PM AT

The meeting closed and one member of the public expressed concerns on the pothole situation in Chillenden and drainage in Lower Rowling, they were advised to report any issues on the Kent County Council Highways reporting Tool, the more reports that are made the better. The Chairman thanked the member of the public and the meeting then re-opened at 7.43pm.DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

- County Councillor Chandler – Gave a report including improvements in Kent County Council’s Special Educational Needs & Disabilities provision, all KCC County parks have retained their green flag status, the KCC Strategic Transport plan is out for consultation, Dover District Council have adopted the Local Plan and she answered questions on funding and Highways.
- District Councillors – Bartlett & Porter – the September report had been emailed. District Councillor Porter reported on Community Grants, Community Roots buses and help available for pensioners at Age Concern, Sandwich as well as Dover District Council’s audit of Planning Enforcement.

- Millenium Field & Environmental Fund – How to maximise
usage and add value to the village
Councillor Stanford reported on plans to clear vegetation, empty out the rotten Millenium shed and possibly put in some raised planters and benches and bring the sheep back. Clerk to investigate the Community Payback Scheme for probationer volunteers to help and Councillors Baker and Stanford to advertise in the Messenger for ideas and volunteers for a working party.Action Clerk, SB & KS - Mowing Contract – nothing more to discuss.

- Proposed Kent County Council Consultation to Divest
Councillor Allen reported that all Kent Windmills were against the Kent County Council proposals, the policy was due to be adopted in November, KCC had been invited to the 23rd October Windmill meeting and a meeting was trying to be arranged with Roger Gale.
