COMMUNITY POLICING /NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH

No reports received.

FOOTPATHS

  1. Old Cart Track Chillenden
    Councillor Beeching confirmed that KCC had recommended the option of Bridleway as
    the preferred status for the right of way between Grange and Station Road. This would maintain access by existing users.
    Councillor Beeching proposed that the relevant paperwork and witness statements be submitted and the Old Cart Track be designated with Bridleway status.
    Agreed by unanimous vote.
  2. Parish Notice boards
    Councillor Beeching and Councillor Aldington agreed to finalise a design and report to next meeting. The Chairman advised there may be funding or grants from Dover District Council for this project.

HIGHWAY MATTERS FLY TIPPING POT HOLE REPORTS

Pot holes repairs still remain outstanding and in some cases extended in Station Road area of Chillenden. Many have been marked but works not completed.

ACTION CLERK TO FOLLOW UP

SPEED CONTROLS GOODNESTONE AND CHILLENDEN

Survey/questionnaires been received. A total of 8 objections from 51 papers submitted. Councillor Phillips confirmed the responses will be analysed and further discussions will be held with KCC Highways.

Councillor Hawksworth reported that Goodnestone Primary School support speed reduction in the village.

Further discussions took place on the issues raised by residents including costs, extension of the scheme, alternative speed reducing methods. KCC Councillor Chandler advised on the KCC Vision Zero project and advised that KCC do not support the use of Speed Calming Bumps due to noise control and speeding between the bumps.

ACTION Clerk to convene a zoom meeting with KCC Highways and available Councillors to discuss the project

STREET LIGHTING

Chillenden lights reported. Clerk had requested update from Dover District Council . No response to date.

ACTION: CLERK TO PROGRESS

LAND TO REAR OF CHILLENDEN VILLAGE HALL

Councillor Phillips reported that the Container on this site had been removed.

Councillor Bartlett agreed to send an Officer from the Environment Department to the site to investigate reports of asbestos contamination.

Electric Car charging

Councillor Bartlett had reported on the proposed Dover District Council Car Charging Bays to be placed in Dover Deal and Sandwich in the report to Parish Assembly.

Councillor Aldington reported on this item and stated that there is KCC funding for rural locations for this project.

The Chairman asked for this item to be deferred to the next meeting.

COUNCILLOR REPORTS ON PARISH MATTERS

Councillors discussed associated problems with the new Refuse Collection contract with Veolia. Councillor Bartlett agreed there were some problems due to computer digital errors but expected a good service to be delivered as soon as possible.
